Amanda is a registered Counselling Psychologist who specialises in helping adults, children, adolescents, and their family work through anxiety, stress, and trauma. She is particularly interested in helping people become unstuck, helping them to work through fears in order to find a more fulfilling and satisfying life. Amanda believes counselling should be meaningful, focused, and non-judgemental.
Amanda takes a holistic and integrative approach to therapy that focuses on all aspects of a person’s life and in particular considers the dynamic relationship between the mind and body on a person’s well-being.
Amanda provides a safe and compassionate space, using a range of different therapeutic approaches which take into consideration a person’s life stage, particular needs, and preferred ways of working. She is trained in person-centred counselling, play therapy, crisis intervention, stress management, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and solutions focused therapy.
As a trained mindfulness and meditation instructor, it is also natural for Amanda to blend mindfulness practice and self-compassion into treatment when this is appropriate.
With over ten years of experience in helping people regain a path to wellness, Amanda is well placed to help you and/or your family to utilise new coping skills, be happier, and find new and exciting ways to enjoy a new found hope in life.
